Just a minute away from the A514, Cadley Village’s location makes travelling by car around the county and beyond very easy. Both Derby and Nottingham are less than an hour away, while Burton-on-Trent can be reached in less than 20 minutes.

For residents wanting to travel by train, Burton-on-Trent railway station is located less than 6 miles away, where regular services to Nottingham and Birmingham pass through, as well as some to Edinburgh and Leeds.

Two major bus lines pass just outside Cadley Village, all run by Diamond Buses. The 21E line will take you to the likes of Newhall and Burton-on-Trent, while the 22 line takes a different route to the nearby town, going through Stapenhill.

Things to do in Swadlincote 

Residents itching to hit a few balls will be pleased to know that Swadlincote Family Golf Centre is a 2-minute drive away from Cadley Village.

Anyone wanting to discover more about the area’s history will want to head over to Ashby-de-la-Zouch for its castle, where you can still climb up the half-ruined tower.

There are several restaurants in Swadlincote itself, giving a nice variety for residents to choose from. For example, Ice and Slice offers fusion flavours of different cuisines and a bottomless brunch, while Montanaro’s will satisfy any Italian craving.

Those wanting a day out shopping will want to head over to Burton-on-Trent, where Coopers Square offers a selection of stores ranging from everyday fashion at New Look to elegant menswear at House of Cavani.

The closest primary school to Cadley Village is Pennine Way Junior Academy (for children aged 7-11), an easy 17-minute walk away. Other options in the area include Fairmeadows Foundation Primary (ages 3-11), just under 10 minutes away by car, and St Edward’s Catholic Academy (ages 4-11), reachable with a 7-minute drive.

For children taking the next step in their education, The Pingle Academy (ages 11-18) is a 6-minute drive away. Another option is Mercia Academy, located 8 minutes away by car.
