With picturesque countryside on its doorstep and quick access to local cities, Micklefield offers the perfect balance of country living and accessibility. 

At the heart of this leafy village lies a lot of history, with it formally being recognised as a ‘typical’ Yorkshire coal-mining community.

The village has an abundance of nearby green spaces, including Micklefield Recreation Ground, which offers its very own skate park and is less than a mile from the Radford’s Meadow development.

Whilst Micklefield offers its very own local convenience store serving many of your quick needs, the surrounding areas are well served with larger supermarkets, such as Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Co-op, all within an easy 10-minute drive.

With retail and leisure destination The Springs being only a seven-minute drive away, you will never be short of fun activities to do living at Radford’s Meadow. You’ll find a 10-screen Odeon Luxe Cinema, a bowling alley, crazy golf, and many renowned high street brands for all your shopping needs at the complex.  

In under 15 minutes you can reach the well-known stately home and museum of Temple Newsam. There are so many activities to take part in here that it offers a great family day out with something that suits all. With stunning lakes and gardens, there is plenty of nature and trails to keep you busy too. 

Alongside this is Home Farm, a working farm and one of the largest rare breed centres in Europe. If you fancy a break during your action-packed day, there is an on-site tearoom, which offers some of the farm’s home-grown produce.

Further afield lies Leeds city centre. Accessible from Micklefield train station, Leeds is a shopping hub with Leeds Trinity and Victoria Gate, which are surrounded by popular well-known and independent eateries. The city is also home to the Royal Armouries, Leeds Town Hall, the Corn Exchange and First Direct Arena, which hold some of the biggest events of the year. 

The area of the development is also home to a great selection of schools. These primary schools offer a mix of outstanding and good ratings from Ofsted. The local Garforth Academy Secondary School also boasts an Outstanding rating from Ofsted.

Only a 15-minute walk away or a two-minute drive from the development is Micklefield train station, offering commuters easy connections to Leeds and York in under 20 minutes. There are two bus services which regularly go through the village, covering areas such as Leeds, Selby, Wakefield and Castleford.
