A great annual event to attend is Scunthorpe Musical Festival, which has plenty of music, dance, and theatre performances to offer throughout the year, and for even more live performances throughout the year, The Baths Hall also puts on some great shows!

Those wanting to find out more about the area’s history can learn all about it at the award-winning North Lincolnshire Museum, while Normanby Hall provides 300 acres of parkland, a tour of the hall and a museum focused on rural life.

If you’re looking for more family-friendly things to do near our new homes in Scunthorpe, pay a visit to the Pink Pig Farm to spend the day around animals and let your kids have fun at the outdoor play area, or head straight to Messingham Zoo to see meerkats, wallabies, coatis and more!

There are also many green spaces in the area to enjoy, including the award-winning Central and Jubilee parks, as well as several golf courses to practice on, such as Ashby Decoy Golf Club and Holme Hall Golf Club.

Transport in Scunthorpe

Surrounded by multiple A-roads and motorways, our new builds in Scunthorpe are extremely well-connected for explorers and commuters alike.

For instance, with the M180 running right under the town, travelling to the likes of Doncaster (in 40 minutes) and Grimsby (in 35 minutes) couldn’t be easier. The motorway also connects with the M18, which means you can reach Sheffield in around 1 hour. Furthermore, the A15 can take you to Lincoln in around 45 minutes

Scunthorpe train station allows you to jump onto regular services travelling to and from Liverpool, Cleethorpes, Manchester, and Doncaster. There are also great bus connections available throughout town, such as the 350 bus, which can take you all the way to Hull.

The closest airport to Scunthorpe is Humberside Airport (25-minute drive), which offers flights to Sweden, Finland, Aberdeen, Amsterdam, Bulgaria, and Majorca. And for even more sunny destinations, Leeds Bradford Airport is around 1.5 hours away by car.

Shopping in Scunthorpe

With plenty of shopping options near our new homes in Scunthorpe, including five shopping centres and retail parks, you’ll be spoilt for choice on your day out.

The Foundry can be found in the town centre and has a range of cafes and over 30 shops to browse. The Parishes is another great shopping destination with a cinema, Visual Arts Centre, and plenty of shops and cafes.

Near the town centre, you will find North Lincolnshire Shopping Park and Gallagher Retail Park, both offering multiple outlets all in one place. You can also travel a little further out to Scunthorpe Retail Park for even more shops to explore.

For more local produce, St John's Market is an indoor market with a range of stalls to explore as well as a food court and a play area. Also worthy of a visit is Ashby Market, an outdoor market that takes place on Thursdays with stalls selling a range of produce and traditional crafts.

Restaurants in Scunthorpe

If you suddenly fancy a meal out rather than cooking, our new build homes in Scunthorpe are never far from a great restaurant. For example, Colosseo serves up traditional Italian cuisine, while San Pietro focuses its menu more around Sicilian staples.

For a more local experience, Bird in the Barley is the perfect place to have homely pub food or a Sunday roast, while Baltic Town offers something few other places do: authentic Lithuanian cuisine.

You can also find tasty Indian meals at Rahmans and Imperial Mahal, but if it’s a good steak you’re after, then you can always fall back on a classic like Miller & Carter.

As for fine dining in the area, one of the closest Michelin-star restaurants near Scunthorpe is Winteringham Fields. Located a quick 20-minute drive away in Winteringham, this one Michelin-starred restaurant is worth the trip for its modern dishes all made from local ingredients.
