You can find a variety of shops, pubs and restaurants in Preston. Fishergate, one of Preston’s shopping centres and the nearby high street, is a mix of historical architecture, and a modern shopping experience.
Preston’s claim to fame is the spire of the St Walburge Church, one of the tallest structures in Lancashire. Built in the mid-1800s, the church has a Gothic Revival style, and is a great place to view and learn about Preston’s history.
A stroll around the Preston Docks is a great way to relax. The dockland used to be one of the largest trading ports in the North West, and was celebrated as the largest single dock in the UK at the time it was built. Alternatively, you can also enjoy a trip to the local ODEON cinema.
In Preston, you’ll also find parks perfect for dog walking such as Avenham and Miller Parks, Haslam Park, Winckley Square, and Moor Park.
There are also several gyms in Preston offering workouts and personal trainers.
Shopping
Fishergate High Street shopping centre has the largest collection of shops in Preston.
There are clothing retailers like Primark, Tessuti, M&S, and Next, as well as health and beauty brands like Lush, Bodycare and Boots. Fishergate also has a Waterstones and a WHSmith.
Apart from Fishergate, there’s also St George’s Shopping Centre on Friargate Street, which offers a wide range of clothing, beauty, jewellery, and tech shops. St George’s also has several restaurants and cafes.
