Clifton is a small, quiet town in Nottingham but its excellent transport links make some of Nottingham’s most exciting attractions only a short drive away. 

The perfect town to commute from

Clifton is a town in Nottingham that boasts excellent transport links thanks to its proximity to the A453, a road that connects Clifton residents to the rest of Nottingham and the M1, offering a direct route to both London and Leeds. There is also a great tram service operating out of Clifton which makes for an easy commute to Nottingham City Centre.

Plenty of amenities

Moving into one of our new homes in Nottingham is ideal if you would like to enjoy the benefits of living near Nottingham’s city centre, without the busy atmosphere that comes with living in the city.

Much of your weekly shopping can be done at Clifton’s new retail park, The Clifton Triangle, completed in 2018. Here you can find the Green Lane shopping centre which houses well-known brands including the likes of Lidl, B&M, a Sue Ryder superstore, and the Butcher’s Shop amongst others.

There are also the local Clifton Markets where, on Fridays and Saturdays, you can buy fresh produce, crafts, and clothing (amongst other things) from traders local to the area.

A wonderful selection of schools

The town is also home to a number of good schools across every academic stage including primary schools like The Milford Academy, The Glapton Academy and Whitegate Primary School and secondary schools like The Farnborough Spencer Academy.
Nottingham Trent University also has a campus in Clifton.

A place of great natural beauty

A part of the UK cherished by nature-lovers for its diverse ecosystem, situated only 2.1 miles away from Clifton is the Attenborough Nature Centre.

Envisioned by the naturalist and British national treasure, Sir David Attenborough, the Attenborough Nature Centre is a lakeside reserve and educational centre that is home to several breeds of geese. It was previously listed by BBC Wildlife Magazine as one of their Top 10 Eco Places in the World in 2011.

A storied legacy

The mythology around Nottingham Forest is one appreciated and embraced by the area’s residents. Indeed, situated only 3.5 miles away from Clifton, the Robin Hood Museum pays tribute to the mythical robber of the rich and giver to the poor, with several costumes and artefacts dedicated to the legendary hero that famously called Nottingham Forest his home.
