Transport in Clifton

With the A453 a 2-minute drive away, getting into Nottingham by car is extremely easy and takes around 15 minutes. It also allows residents to join the M1 in less than 10 minutes for trips up and down the country to the likes of Sheffield, Leeds and Leicester.

The closest train station is in nearby Beeston (12 minutes by car). From there, you can catch hourly services to London, Cardiff or Leicester.

Nottingham’s tram service is also available in Clifton, with the Clifton Centre Tram Stop a 24-minute walk from Foxgrove Village.

The nearest bus stop is Lilac Court a 2-minute walk away, where you can catch the Grey line into Wollaton and Arnold. You can also get into Nottingham with the regular (every 20 minutes) Navy line at the Man of Trent stop 10 minutes away on foot.

And if you want to leave the country for extra sunshine, East Midlands Airport is a quick 15-minute drive down the road.

Things to do around Clifton

With Clifton Woods right on your doorstep, you’ll never be short of things to do on a sunny day.

There is also the Attenborough Nature Reserve and its Centre on the other side of the River Trent, where you can spend your time spotting birds and otters while walking along various nature trails.

Whitegate Primary and Nursery School and The Glapton Academy are the two closest primary schools, each reachable in around 15 minutes on foot and both catering to children aged 3-11.

Highbank Primary and Nursery School (ages 3-11), The Milford Academy (ages 2-11) and Blessed Robert Widmerpool Catholic Primary and Nursery School (ages 3-11) are also less than 2 miles away from Foxgrove Village, making it a great area for young families.

For slightly older children, Farnborough Spencer Academy in Clifton (ages 11-16) and The Becket School (ages 11-18) in Wilford both offer secondary education around 10 minutes away by car.

Aside from the aforementioned primary schools, which all provide nursery services, Little Toes Day Nursery (ages 0-5) and Silverdale Playgroup (ages 2-4) are other daycare options for the little ones less than a 10-minute drive away.
