Despite being in the middle of a green haven, Glenboig is also extremely well-connected, with the M73 less than a mile away, and the M80 taking you straight to Glasgow only a 10 minute drive from the village centre.

While Glenboig did have its own railway station until 1956, the nearest train stop is in the neighbouring Gartcosh, a four minute drive, 10 minute cycle or just over 30 minute walk from Glenboig, it offers a service to Glasgow every 30 minutes and hourly services to Falkirk and Cumbernauld.

You can also access Coatbridge Sunnyside Station by bus from multiple locations in Glenboig, with regular half-hourly services provided by United Coaches to the heart of the neighbouring town.

Things to do in Glenboig

For those of you wanting to discover more about the area’s history, the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life is down the road in nearby Coatbridge, where you can also explore a reconstruction of what an old mining village looked like.
