Living in Acklam

A short 7-minute drive from the new homes in Acklam is Harewood Primary School which is an OFSTED graded outstanding school. The school regularly updates its website with new topics and activities that the children have been taking part in. The local area has an abundance of outstanding and good-rated OFSTED schools, they are highly sought after and priority is usually given to local families. Avant Homes consider the surrounding area when they look at building a new development to ensure that the area is attractive to all potential buyers.

Teesside University which is just a 10-minute drive to the new development The Avenue in Acklam is an outstanding graded university, currently running over 680 courses.

Dorman Museum is a popular attraction a short drive from the new development in Acklam. The museum was built in memory of George Lockwood Dorman and Yorkshire Regiments who sadly lost their lives during the South African Wars. What originally started as a natural history museum that could only be viewed by private members has grown over the decades to feature extensive historical items. There are interactive galleries such as the H20 exhibit where you can try to catch fish or load up your boats. The museum has an array of artifacts, botanical items, and photography to enjoy, there are also special exhibits during the years. The museum itself is free to visit with some galleries and exhibits incurring an additional charge.
