Transport in Somercotes 

Situated 4-minutes by car from the A38 and less than 10 minutes from the M1, Seely Fields is ideal for anyone needing to commute or regularly travel to bigger towns in Derbyshire and beyond, with Nottingham (30 minutes away) and Chesterfield (a 25-minute drive) all within easy reach.

Any residents wanting to use the train can do so from Alfreton train station, located an 8-minute drive away, where you can hop onto regular services to Liverpool, Nottingham and Leeds.

There is also an hourly bus route to Alfreton and Swanwick (the 152 line operated by Stagecoach East Midlands) running right outside Seely Fields, with multiple stops less than a five-minute walk away.

Things to do near Somercotes

The abundance of green space in the area lends itself to outdoor activities, with two golf courses nearby: Alfreton Golf Course (a 9-minute drive) and Ormonde Fields Golf Club, just south of Riddings (13 minutes away).

Alfreton Park is a quick 5-minute walk from the town centre and offers plenty of open space for children to play in, as well as some woodlands bustling with wildlife.

There are also several good restaurants in the area, such as Curry Lounge in Somercotes itself, the School House Restaurant in South Normanton and the great breakfast spot MADE@No18 in Alfreton.
