New homes in
Bradford

Situated in West Yorkshire, Bradford is a city steeped in history, dating back over 1,000 years. Its dramatic growth during the Industrial Revolution shaped its unique character, much of which has been retained to this day.

As well as its cultural background, the city is also home to plenty of green spaces, including Lister Park, once voted the best park in the United Kingdom.

In January 2025, Bradford was selected to be the fourth UK City of Culture, beating the likes of County Durham and Derby along the way.

With a real focus on showcasing culture and supporting young people, Bradford is quickly becoming one of the most up-and-coming cities in the country, making it a great place for families to settle down long-term.

Living in Bradford

All this, right on your doorstep

Thanks to its rise in popularity, Bradford caters to everyone with its diverse offering of attractions.

Fans of cinema will fill their boots, as Bradford became the first UNESCO City of Film, thanks in part to the Bradford Film Festival taking place every October to celebrate a range of independent and international films. While bookworms can enjoy the yearly Bradford Literature Festival in June and July.

Theatre is also big in the city, with both the Alhambra Theatre (Edwardian theatre showcasing West End musicals) and Theatre in the Mill (small theatre putting on experimental performances from emerging performers) both worth a visit.

And if exploring museums is your idea of a day well spent, make sure to check out the National Science and Media Museum and the Bradford Industrial Museum.

Transport

Located just 10 miles from Leeds and connected by multiple roads, travelling between these two main West Yorkshire hubs couldn’t be easier.

Bradford is also a 10-minute drive away from the M62, which residents can take east to join the M1 or south west to Manchester.

Buses are a great option when getting around the city, and if you purchase an MCard, you can get discounts on travel on both buses and trains.

There are two train stations in the city: Bradford Interchange (with trains to places like Manchester, York and London) and Bradford Forster Square Station (for travel to Shipley, Ilkley, and beyond).

And for anyone wanting to travel internationally, simply head to Leeds Bradford Airport around 8 miles from the city centre to jet off to the likes of the Czech Republic, Portugal, Slovakia and more!

Shopping

From entire outlets to independent stores and markets, Bradford and its surrounding areas have everything you need when it comes to shopping.

Take The Broadway for example. Beyond the 80+ shops and services on offer, you can also find a cinema and plenty of dining options if you get hungry midway through your shopping spree, meaning you can spend the entire day there if you want!

And if that wasn’t enough, you can find even more shopping options, at Forster Square Shopping Park and Kirkgate Shopping.

Local markets are a great way to support local businesses, with many in and around Bradford open on different days of the week.

For example, if you’re looking for outdoor markets offering seasonal produce, visit Bingley Market and Shipley Market, but if you’re after more of an artisanal selection, the farmers’ market at Saltaire will be for you.

Restaurants

Awarded "Curry Capital of Britain" six times, it’s no surprise that Bradford has plenty of restaurants specialising in the cuisine.

If you’re after some of the best in the curry business, head over to International Restaurant in the city centre, which was recently voted Best Restaurant by customers at the Curry Awards, showing just how popular it is!

However, beyond curry, you can find a taste of Italy right in the heart of Bradford at Mamma Mia, a highly-rated family-run restaurant serving traditional dishes.

If you want to try something unique, why not book a table at Napoleons, a casino restaurant that offers seasonal menus. Its menu changes regularly, meaning you’ll be able to try new food with every visit!

Those looking for fine dining will want to go out of town to The Box Tree in Ilkley, a quick 30-minutes’ drive away, which serves modern British cuisines and boasts 3 AA Rosettes.
