How to transform your spare room for your hobby

If you find yourself with a spare room in your home and aren’t sure what to do with it, then we have plenty of advice to help you!

Instead of letting it become somewhere to dump things that don’t have a place, transform the space for your hobby! Let it be a space where you can go to relax and immerse yourself in what you love to do.

Don’t know where to start? Here’s some of our top ideas to inspire you:

Craft room

If you’re looking to embrace your creative side, this one’s for you!

Whether you craft to make money or just do it for fun, having a dedicated space to do it will benefit you.

Make sure to select the right workstation that is sturdy and stable and take advantage of natural light to brighten your craft room. Your crafting space should reflect your creative personality, so add pops of your favourite colours and patterns. Not forgetting storage, crafting tends to involve lots of different products and tools so consider shelves, drawers and cupboards.

Home gym

If you’re a person who loves the gym but struggles to get there during your busy lifestyle, why not create your own home gym?

There will be no commute time and no gym membership. Gym equipment can be pricey, but even if you’re on a budget there are still ways to create a gym space that works for your needs.  To find out more about creating a home gym, click here!

Gaming room

If you only get to play on your games console when no one else is using the TV, why not upgrade your spare space into a gaming room?!

It’s important to get the optimal gaming set-up, invest in a gaming chair, desk, keyboard, mouse and monitor.

Once you’ve got the basics in place, personalise your set-up with gaming accessories. Such as LED lighting around the rim of your desk, graphics and prints or floating shelves to display your favourite gaming décor.

Home cinema

If you love a movie marathon or watching the latest series back-to-back, why not create yourself a home cinema room?!

Start with a big screen or projector and then build the rest of your room with lots of cosy seating, mood lighting and of course, a snacks corner.

To set the perfect cinema atmosphere, you might want to invest in some black out blinds or curtains too!

Walk-in wardrobe

If you’re obsessed with clothes and accessories, you might be struggling with storage space for your attire. Creating a walk-in wardrobe will maximise your storage space and give you a dedicated room to get ready in.

It’s important to consider what you will require the storage for whether that be dresses, shoes or handbags etc when choosing furniture. If your spare room is big enough, add a full-length mirror and vanity unit to make it the dressing room of dreams.

Unleash your creativity in your hobby room, there’s no limit to what you can create within your spare space!
