Avant Homes Central has appointed a construction director as the housebuilder further implements its multi-tenure expansion strategy within the region.

Matt Rodgers has been promoted from head of construction having initially joined Avant Homes Central as area construction manager in October 2022. He has more than 27 years’ experience within the housebuilding industry.

In his new role, Matt has overall responsibility for the delivery of Avant Homes’ new build programme of activity within the region. This comprises homes for private development and for partnerships with registered social landlords and private rented sector (PRS) providers.

He will continue to lead the Avant Homes Central office-based and onsite construction teams and contribute to the strategic direction of the regional business at board level.

Commenting on his appointment, Matt said: “We have a clear expansion plan within our Central region which will be delivered by our multi-tenure strategy. I am fortunate to lead a construction team full of committed professionals who are all aligned in achieving the same customer orientated objectives.

“Avant Homes’ vision is to build quality homes, for everyone and, as a team, we are focused on making that vision a reality. This is in line with government policy as it will ensure more of our practically designed, energy efficient new homes are available to the people that need them most.”

Avant Homes Central covers South Yorkshire, Derbyshire, North Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. The region currently has six live developments ranging from Merlin’s Point at Witham St Hughes to Bennerley View in Awsworth.

The housebuilder’s new homes typically have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of B or above, which is considered excellent for energy efficiency.

Avant Homes Central director-in-charge, Matt Barker, said: “Matt has proven himself to be an excellent asset for our business and someone who has continually demonstrated his ability to lead.

“He will continue to work with the rest of the regional board to help shape the future direction of our business whilst ensuring the ongoing high standards of new homes construction as part of our multi-tenure expansion strategy.”
