Avant Homes appoints group health and safety manager

Sean Durnan joins from Persimmon Homes where he was a senior group health and safety advisor working across the north of England.
In his new role, Sean is responsible for implementing the Group’s health and safety policies, as well as reviewing processes and procedures to ensure they are delivered effectively across Avant Homes’ eight regions.
Commenting on his appointment, Sean said: “The delivery of Avant Homes’ multi-tenure strategy is underpinned by the health and safety requirements of our people, contractors, suppliers and the communities where we build.
“I am working closely with the expert teams within each of our operating companies to ensure we adhere to our stringent health and safety standards while delivering quality new homes for everyone.”
At present, Avant Homes Group employs more than 600 people. The housebuilder’s ambition is to develop its multi-tenure business further across its existing regions and beyond, creating communities as well as providing employment opportunities.
Welcoming Sean to the business, Avant Homes' regional chairman, Mark Cook, said: “Sean is a senior health and safety professional with a demonstrable track record of leading teams and delivering results.
“His knowledge and experience will shape our future processes and plans to ensure we remain at the forefront of health and safety within the housebuilding industry.
“By its nature, our multi-tenure approach involves proactively managing a range of relationships to enable its delivery, and Sean will ensure health and safety remains paramount throughout.”
