After outgrowing Iain's one bedroom flat in the city, Sarah and Iain decided to upsize, so they could start a family in the future. They found their dream home at Hawthornden, Rosewell, Midlothian and loved that it was a blank canvas, giving them the chance to put their own mark on it without renovating.

Living in Roswell, Midlothian

The village is close to a number of historical sites including Whitehill House, which is known for its popular golf course, and Hawthornden Castle, a popular writer’s retreat which dates back to the 15th century. 

The village is also home to the Rosewell Historical Society, a group that works to educate people on, and also preserve, the history of the village

  

Rosewell is a scenic village with several walking trails to explore. One of the more popular walking trails in the village is by Roslin Castle, although the Esk Valley Trail is quite popular as well.

The Rosewell Walkers and Striders group is a walking group that meets up every Friday, and welcomes anyone in the area who would like to get involved.

The nearby town of Bonnyrigg boasts a selection of shops, bars and supermarkets and is only a 10-minute drive away from our development.
